Current Openings PUBLIC HEALTH COORDINATOR Overview: Will provide stregic direction and management of PfD/Nigeria's public health activities, assuring their integration with other aspects of the country program. Base is Abuja with travel as far as necessary. Competitive compensation in local currency. Key Responsibilities: Lead on technical design, direction, monitoring, reporting and management of all health activities. Ensure health program compliance with technical quality standards, budgetary guidelines, reporting requirements and contractual agreements. Supervise staff and local NGO parters in implementation and monitoring of current programs. Identify and develop new partnerships and donor relations. Qualifications: Master degree in Public Health or Health Administration. Five to seven years in public health program management, private sector capacity building, grant management with bi-lateral and multilateral donors, and private foundations. Outstanding communication skills, oral and written. Track record in successful new business development. Extensive experience in organizational development and capacity building of local NGOs. Technical experience related to reproductive health and HIV/AIDS strongly preferred. Experience with database management-MS Access and/or MS Excel required. INTERNSHIP WITH PARTNERS FOR DEVELOPMENT: Illustrative Job Description Reports to: Senior Accountant, Program Officer, or Executive Director and/or other staff as necessary Support: Lunch/tranport allowance possible; increase possible dependent on budget and performance Partners for Development (PFD) has benefited from internships over the years while simultaneously providing rewarding experience for the interns. In most cases, the internships are for a summer or a spring or fall semester, though something of a shorter duration is possible based on discussion. In general, an intern may be expected to assist in three areas: A. Resource Development/Public Relations B. Program support, including research; and/or C. Administrative support Attendance at external meetings is also desirable and provides the intern an opportunity to network, etc. Because PFD/U.S. is a small office of generally no more than five staff, we put a premium on candidates who are self-relant and excellent problem-solvers. More specifically, we expect that, following orientation, the intern will often be able to recomment feasible solutions to the myriad of challenges and/or operational issues that arise. The intern generally has full use of a computer and would likely be assigned an individual email account.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee direction of prgram, including management of current objectives and assets; prospect for new business; ensure strong financial management; develop/strengthen management systems. Qualifications: Significant NGO field management experience, preferably in public health, small enterprise development, and local capacity-building; demonstrated self reliant problem-solver; outstanding communication skills, both written and oral; planning; budgeting; proposal-development; financial management; liaison/negotation with donors/host governments; and cultural sensitivity.
